The Office Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and oversight of various non-lawyer support staff including secretarial, reception, and support positions. The ideal administrator will be enthusiastic; organized; confident speaking to small and large groups; approachable by lawyers and non-lawyers; a good listener and problem solver; confidential and discreet; creative; tactful; fiscally responsible; and composed in the face of multiple priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include recruiting and hiring of non-lawyer staff; implementing firm policies, procedures, and standards; organizing and managing work assignments and coverage of support services; orientation of new staff members; development and training of staff; event planning for recruiting, business development, various meetings and internal office parties; conflict resolution and problem solving; conducting performance evaluations, counseling and disciplinary actions within prescribed guidelines; preparing expense and trust account checks; operating within expected financial guidelines and budgets; maintaining facilities; and providing support and execution of recruiting and business development initiatives. This position will interact closely with other administrative managers to achieve the firm’ s strategic goals.
Qualifications: Bachelor’ s degree in business administration, human resources or comparable field required; previous supervisory experience in a legal or professional services environment strongly preferred; ability to work well under time constraints and pressures; communicate effectively with a large and diverse group of individuals; and build and lead effective and successful teams. This position occasionally requires non-traditional work hours.
Salary Range $50k to $65k depending on experience.
