Our client, a regional law firm, is seeking to fill a Legal Secretary position in their Baton Rouge, LA office. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, benefits and great in-house training opportunities.


  • Provide secretarial and administrative assistance to multiple attorneys
  • File documents electronically and with Secretary of State
  • Prepare multiple documents for execution; organize closings and post-closing transcripts
  • Maintenance  of and compliance with electronic document management system
  • Maintain Outlook calendars and schedules
  • Make travel arrangements; handle expense reports and reimbursements
  • Communicate with clients
  • Occasional Excel and PowerPoint projects, as needed
  • Process monthly client billing statements
  • Attorney time entry
  • Assist attorney as requested for closings
  • Preparation and distribution of transcripts
  • Printing and document formatting
  • Keeping attorneys organized as needed


  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 6+ years’ experience as legal secretary or administrative paralegal
  • Ability to maintain regular, on-time attendance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-oriented and continuous learning environment
  • Superior technology skills – proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook); experience with iManage a plus
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage work load; take initiative in handling projects and anticipating needs
  • Requires a high degree of professionalism and the ability to exercise good judgment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Able to work on complex document mark-ups and excellent proofreading skills
  • Maintain multiple calendars in Outlook with meeting dates and deadlines
  • Maintain professional interaction with clients
