Registered Nurse

Our client is seeking a RN to work with their Home Health/Hospice services in the area surrounding Vicksburg, MS. This is a full-time position reporting to the branch manager. The qualified candidate must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, have a current state practical nurse license, and have demonstrated competence in patient care. The accepted applicant must also possess a current, valid driver’s license as the position requires travel to client’s homes.

    • Position Summary:

      The Primary Health Care Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing care in the patient’s place of residence utilizing accepted nursing processes. The Nursing Care is in accordance with the client’s plan of care, under the supervision of the RN.


      Professional Nursing Services are provided by the RN and her/his staff and include:

        • Initial and on-going comprehensive assessments of the client’s needs, including Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) assessments at appropriate time points
        • Initiating the plan of care and revising as necessary
        • Providing those services and/or treatments requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill
        • Counseling and educating the client and family regarding the disease process, self-care techniques and prevention strategies, intiating appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures
        • Preparing clinical and progress notes
        • Coordination of service
        • referral to other services as needed
        • Informing the physician and other staff of changes in the client’s needs
        • Evaluating the effectiveness and outcomes of care
        • Supervising LVN/LPNs and paraprofessionals providing services
        • planning the discharge from services
        • Participating in in-service programs
        • Promotion of client/family independence
        • Hospice services in accordance with accepted standards of practice in relation to terminal diagnosis of the patient’s physical, psycho-social, functional and environmental needs and activities related to daily living.

      Education and Experience:

        • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program (BSN preferred) as determined by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.

      License(s) Required for Job:

        • Valid Registered Nurse license.
        • Valid current driver’s license.

      Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

        • Knowledge of patient care procedures and protocols.
        • Verbal and written communication skills.
        • Interpersosnal skills.
        • Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools, and programs.
        • Ability to work in a team environment.
        • ability to lift, push, pull or move patient, equipment, supplies, etc in excess of 50 pounds with or without the use of assistive/adaptive devices.
        • Must possess the ability to negotiate level and unlevel surfaces with or without the use of assistive devices
