Red, White & Jackson – Fourth of July Celebration

Everyone is  invited to gather in Downtown Jackson on Thursday, June 28 to celebrate Red, White & Jackson, marking the fifth year the event has drawn thousands to a family friendly environment in the Capital City to celebrate America’s Independence.

You do not want to miss this year’s event hosted by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce. It will begin with free food, beverages and live entertainment by the Jason Turner Band from 11 am – 1 pm in Smith Park.

 The event will move to the Old Capitol Green from 7-9pm. As the night falls, everyone will be treated to patriotic tunes from First Baptist Church of Jackson and Anderson Sanctuary Choir. Shortly after that, there will be a spectacular fireworks show by Pyrotecnico. There will be plenty of children’s activities from Smiley the Clown to space jumps and face painting. The Old Capitol Museum will also be participating in the fun from 5-8pm with patriotic children’s activities.

Vendors will begin set up for Red White & Jackson at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday June 28, so the following streets will close starting at 2:00 pm:  State Street from Pearl to Amite, Capitol to President, Amite to President. Keep up with the event by visiting the Red, White & Jackson Facebook page.
