Fondren After Five has returned to Jackson’s happening pedestrian business community after a winter break. Stroll, shop and dine during Fondren’s monthly evening hours event. The fun takes place on the first Thursday of each month from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Expect live music, open houses in the shops, special events and as always, many dining options.
A portion of Duling Avenue is open to pedestrian traffic only and will feature lively music and vendors including local artists and craftsman as well as organizational attractions brought to you by such groups as the MS Museum of Art, Fondren Pres, St. Luke’s UMC, Magnolia Coin, Jackson Zoo, Esculent and Footprint Farms.
Make sure to visit a number of the gallery openings and artist shows around the neighborhood – Interiors Market, Brown’s Fine Art and Framing, Fondren Art Gallery, Collage Studio and slightly off the beaten path, Andy Young’s Garden Gallery one block north of the business district.
Along State Street visit The Beacon, Chaney’s, The Barrel House, Patterson Studio, The Flamingo, Sneaky Beans, Basils, LaBrioche and Roosters as well as the all new Green Ghost Tacos. Then stroll down the boulevard (so to speak) and check out all that’s happening at Rainbow Plaza.
Hops and Habanas, Fondren Public, and CUPS will no doubt be featuring some fine live entertainment. It’s all for free and it’s happening in Fondren, proud to be part of the Jackson community.
