Traffic Signal Boxes – signs of the City With Soul – UPDATE

Beautiful day happenstance!  Driving past High Street today, I could see the excitement and activity building for the Dixie National Rodeo – but in the middle of the chaos, I could see an artist at work!  Her slight frame barely threw a shadow over her beautiful depiction of a Mississippi farmer in harvest.  I stopped to catch this photo of Natalie Carroll, one of the artists chosen by the Greater Jackson Arts Council and the Mayor’s Public Art Initiative to bring a visual representation of our state to an unusual palette.  We chatted for a moment and in her gracious way she reminded me that the Farmer’s Market opens this weekend.  Exciting folks!  Rodeo, Artist, Fresh Veggies!  Get out and enjoy your city!  (Update to this article.)
